This Privacy Policy explains what information Seating Chart Maker ("we," "us," "the site") collects when you use this website, and how it's used. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

Your seating chart data stays on your device

The seating chart planner runs entirely in your web browser. Guest names, table layouts, and event details you enter are stored locally on your device using your browser's built-in storage (localStorage). This data is never transmitted to our servers — we have no database of guest lists, and we cannot see the names or details you enter. Clearing your browser data, or using a different browser or device, will remove or not show this locally stored information.

If you use the Export feature, a file is created and downloaded directly by your browser to your device — again, without passing through our servers. Importing a file works the same way in reverse.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our web server and any analytics or advertising tools we use may automatically collect standard technical information when you visit, such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring site. This information is used in aggregate to understand site usage and is not linked to the guest lists or seating data you create in the planner.

Cookies and advertising

We may display advertising on this site through third-party advertising networks, such as Google AdSense, to help cover hosting costs. These networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand overall traffic patterns (e.g. which pages are popular). Any such analytics data is aggregated and not tied to the content of your seating charts.

Data we do not collect

• We do not require an account, login, or personal registration to use the planner.
• We do not store your guest lists, student rosters, or seating layouts on our servers.
• We do not sell personal data — we don't have your guest data to sell in the first place.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for use by teachers, event planners, and other adults organizing seating for their own events or classrooms. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
