About Seating Chart Maker

Seating Chart Maker started from a simple frustration: every time someone needed to seat a room — a wedding, a classroom, an exam hall — they ended up either fighting with a spreadsheet, redrawing a paper chart by hand, or wrestling with a heavyweight diagramming tool built for something else entirely. We built this site to be the tool we wished existed: fast, visual, and focused on exactly one job.

What we believe

A seating chart tool doesn't need accounts, subscriptions, or a learning curve. It needs to let you lay out tables or rows, drop in a guest list, and click people into seats — and then get out of your way. Every decision in this tool is built around that idea: click-to-seat instead of fiddly drag-and-drop, sensible templates instead of a blank canvas, and one-click Auto-Fill and Shuffle for when you just need it done.

How it works, technically

The planner runs entirely in your browser. Your guest list and layout are stored locally on your device using your browser's storage — nothing is uploaded to a server, and there's no account to create. Seating Chart Maker is free to use, with no limits on the number of charts, guests, or exports. The site may display advertising to help cover hosting costs — we aim to keep ads unobtrusive and separate from the tool itself.
